Let us take time to think of things we take for granted and to realize how precious they are for us. Let us ask for the gift of gratitude because then our hearts will be enlarged.

The source of our gratitude is God. This video and your note do not mention it. We must get back to our Catholic roots or our wonderful Faith will continue to be squelched by the secular world. Here is one example of a tie-in.

  Indeed. I agree, our Catholic faith is a treasure. I am influenced by St. Ignatius who said we should see God in everything.

Mary Ann Flannery is a Sister of Charity of Cincinnati who has held teaching and administrative positions at several colleges. Before her community (Vincentian Sisters of Charity) merged with the Sisters of Charity, she served as community president and in other leadership roles. She has been a freelance journalist, the director of a Jesuit retreat house, and active in social justice issues for more than 30 years. She continues to offer retreats and spiritual direction.
